EvoLux is a centralized marketplace for private regional travel. What does that really mean, though? Think: the easiest place to reserve your own helicopter, seaplane, light jet, etc… and making it more accessible by lowering the price point. No membership fees or additional costs – full transparency. Sound too good to be true? It’s not!
The vision for EvoLux came to Ray Leavitt while sitting in daily rush-hour traffic for the millionth time. Whether it was a Honda Accord or Rolls Royce, everyone was sitting in the same traffic – Ray looked up to the sky and asked himself why isn’t anyone flying a helicopter? He knew that there were people who could afford it but there were certain obstacles that prevented them from doing so. Ray then set out to find out what those obstacles were and how to reduce and eliminate them.
After working as a broker in the private jet travel industry, Ray took several learnings applied them to a proof-of-concept reservation system in Florida in 2011. In 2012, he entered and won Sikorsky’s Entrepreneurial Challenge, which brought him from Boca Raton, Florida to Stamford, Connecticut to officially start EvoLux.
